Little Scooter

Jacie's favorite method of transport is cracking all of us up. She is doing her little scoot more and more to get around, in addition to her "chimp roll/ mini-cartwheel." Here's a short demonstration of how it looks. We're guessing she doesn't want her knees calloused, so she's using her diaper-padded bootie to get her from place to place.

Summer Fun

Jacie's summer has been a lot of fun so far. Nana gave Jacie her own Jacie-sized rocking chair. Grandma TeeTee came to visit for a few days, so she took lots of outings and got to get in her Jacie-sized pool again. She has scooted all over the house, the back patio, and Mama's school. Poor Harley has been poked on, screamed at, sat upon, and had her fur, ears, and tail pulled. She's getting to where she just gets out of Jacie's way if she sees her coming. Jacie is showing us how smart she is all the time-- she's now learned to find the owl in one of her books and she is able to connect it with the owl Mama has in her garden (that's supposed to scare off the other critters but apparently DOESN'T!). She can hoot like the owl when cued, but otherwise she seems to remember it as. "OOOHHH." She contiues to talk about Dada all the time, and she seems to use it pretty universally, although she gets more excited when she actually says it to Jon. (However, the traffic guy on the news was Dada, as well as the president.) We try to get her to say Mama, but she responds with Dada!!! (Is she arguing with me!?!?) She kisses everything from the dog, to her baby doll, her reflection, and pictures of her or other babies. She's so good-hearted...we couldn't be more blessed!!!

Jon's 1st Father's Day

Well, you can guess what Daddy wanted to do for Father's Day-- go to H2!! Jacie got to dip her feet in the pond, "drive" Mama's Jeep, and take a ride in Daddy's Jeep. She continued to enjoy her swing but learned that, by spreading her feet out as far as possible, she could bring it to a stop....SO lady-like!!! I guess we're asking for it by making her such a tomboy in all that camo, though, huh? We'll address it, don't worry!!!

11 Months Old!!!

As of today, Jacie is 11 months old. This year is flying by!!! The past month has been a very eventful one....Mama was SO excited that Jacie waited until she got off work to take her first steps. She's still not technically walking, but she continues to surprise us by adding more steps here and there. We were unable to catch it on video until now since it happens so fast!!!

Fun at H2

It's so neat every time we take Jacie to the ranch. Each time she's aware of a little more. She had fun hanging out and enjoying some new scenery. She got to see horses, cows, fish, and even some jackrabbits!!! Jacie sported her new Bass Pro hat (bought by Daddy, of course) while Mama did some fishing.

Sleeping Beauty

Every active little girl needs her beauty sleep. Jacie crashed on Daddy after church last weekend. This weekend, she went down to H2 and had a great time with Mama, Daddy, and Bradley!!! We couldn't believe she actually wanted to get in the swing!! The swing at our house has been in the attic for months because of the fit she threw every time we tried to put her in. But, by golly...it still does the trick!!! She was out like a light in a matter of minutes!!!

Cruising

One of Jacie's favorite new things to do is push her little walker around the house. She can really get going fast!!! She'll often grab something from up high and then continue pushing along one-handed. Nothing is safe now!!! Jacie goes a little slow in this video because she has to pause to check out what's on tv and stop to acknowledge the deer mount on the wall.
