New Tastes

Jacie continues to try new things, and luckily she finally seems to like most of it!!! Feeding her isn't half the battle it used to be, and we're so grateful! She is trying to learn how to use a sippy cup, although she really enjoys throwing it. She just started getting real sips of apple juice, and it sort of surprised her, since she's used to getting water.

10 months old

We can't believe Jacie is already 10 months old!! She can let go of things and stand alone for a few seconds now, she continues to be into everything, and she has started testing our consistency a little bit. She is also getting some more top teeth in, so she is always covered in drool. Apparently, putting her paci in funny helps those teeth feel better!!! Jacie got to try out her new swimming pool this weekend.

Memorial Day Weekend

Jacie took another trip up to Tulsa for Memorial Day weekend. She got to see more of her family, got to visit the cemetery where her Great Grandpa Bum and Grandpa Frank are buried, and got to see her Great Aunt Kim get baptized! She loved getting to see everybody and was a very good traveler.

So Many Changes...

It's amazing how much Jacie changes every day. She is getting two of her top teeth, (which hasn't been fun, of course), she can say, "Dada," and she is constantly on the go!!! She has decided to forgo crawling for the more comical "Chimp Roll." She can push to a sitting position from her stomach, and she does total revolutions in her crib during the night! She also pulls up on everything and can cruise the full perimeter of the coffee table. She recently learned how fun it can be to put a purse on your arm, and we're not sure why she waves her arms when she does it, but it sure is cute!!! Our days of peace of mind are over, and we're into the time of bumps and bruises. It's a good thing we've got a tough girl!!!

First Mother's Day

Mama got spoiled for her first Mother's Day. Daddy and Jacie got me a facial and manicure, which were absolutely wonderful. We spent some time at Nana and Popa's on Sunday, and we got to see Aunt Michelle!!!

Anything Can Be a Toy!!

Jacie doesn't keep a favorite toy for long. She usually gets bored with the things she's been playing with and tries to get into something that's not meant to be a toy. Current intriguing items include tupperware and cooking utensils, as well as ENVELOPES!!! Jacie loves to get the envelope boxes off of the office desk shelf and spread them out all over the floor. Of course, the phone and remote controls are still fun, and Jacie has a new fascination (sort of a love-hate relationship) with the deer head on the wall.

Waving

Jacie is getting better at waving now. I was walking into Hallmark today pushing Jacie in her stroller, and a lady going into the neighboring store said, "Awww, how sweet. She just waved to me!" That's our little social butterfly!!!

Cinco de Mayo

Jacie and Mama have enjoyed spending our day off together. Jacie was in the Cinco de Mayo spirit in her fabulous Mexican dress from Jane!!!

Tired Baby

Jacie has slept a lot in attempt to recover from all her ailments this week.

Feeling a little better

As the day goes on, it looks like Jacie is recuperating. While I was putting away her laundry I found that she decided to forgo the toys, (as usual), and play with Harley. We're so thankful for our patient dog who has already been "bam-bammed" on countless times.

If you get any suspicious calls...

...we may know the culprit. Jacie has started mimicking things like the dog's bark and Mama talking on the phone. She's learning so much, although it does appear that she's happy with her current mode of transportation-- scooting/spinning/pulling-- and she's not going to crawl. We laugh about her being on "spin cycle" when she gets in the bathtub. She's usually done about 5 or 6 full spins before she's finished getting bathed. We love our little angel!!

Fun at H2

Jacie took another trip to H2 and had a great time. She even let Mama and Daddy do some fishing!! It was great to have her in the great outdoors again....and the camo hat that Uncle Bradley bought her a long time ago is actually starting to fit. She has really grown!!!

Rough Week

Our poor little Jacie has had a rough 7 days. It all started last Saturday with pink eye. We managed to get her into the doctor on Sunday morning, and then we had the wonderful opportunity of attempting eye drops!!! As if that wasn't enough fun, after a restless night on Tuesday, Jacie's daycare called on Wednesday and told us that her temperature was 102.3. It turns out she had an ear infection, and like the last time, she apparently has a virus, too!!! That was no fun to realize in the midst of all this Swine Flu chaos!!! So, for 3 days her temperature oscillated between 100.6 and 103.7 only to be slightly relieved by the single drop of Motrin we probably got in her after the WWF Wrestling Match. We're hoping that the amoxicillin has taken care of the ear infection. We've also realized that one of her top teeth has broken through, so I'm sure that hasn't helped how she feels. Jacie has been more needy than usual, as expected, but we've also gotten to experience lots of wonderful hugs. Naturally, Jacie gets sick during Mama's busiest week of the year, so Daddy has been a tremendous help. We're so blessed to have him!!!
