First Trip to Sea World

Jacie took her, probably first of many, trips to Sea World on the Saturday before Father's Day. She got to hang out with her friend Kaleb during the day-- swimming, playing, and going to lunch. That evening we set out, and Jacie saw the Sea Lion show, Shamu's show, and the dolphin/ beluga whale show. She was a little nervous with the crowds at the first show, and she clung to Daddy, but by the time Shamu was over, she was ready to dance in the aisles. She really seemed to have a good time. We were all hot, sweaty, and tired by the end, but we sure slept well that night!!! Can't wait to go back!!

Speaking of Baby Brother...

We continue to talk with Jacie and read to her about becoming a big sister. For awhile, she would get a scowl on her face and insist, "Jacie the Baby." She's starting to come around now, though, and we rarely hear that comment anymore. She has recently become obsessed with the baby's room (she is constantly going in there, moving things around, and doing pretend play), and since the bouncy seat has resurfaced, I've caught her in it more than once. (She has even whined to sleep in it.) I've also caught her rocking her baby doll, buckling it into the bouncy seat, and even trying to teach it how to do O-S-U with its arms. It's so cute when she gets in that mode!!!!

Back Home Again

Jacie was excited when Daddy got to come to Arlington for one day of the trip-- the day we found out that Jacie's sibling would be a little brother-- but then she was ready to get back home. She was so happy to be back in the new big-girl bed we had bought. (Mama cried the first night she slept in it-- partly because Daddy read her, "I'll Love You Forever" that night, too!!!) Mama painted Jacie's room, and Jacie was a pretty patient girl even though she really wanted to help.

Spoiled During a Girls' Weekend

While Mama finished up work in Arlington, Jacie got to hang out with MamMaw, Nana, Aunt Sheryl, and Aunt Susan. As you can imagine, that meant Jacie had a LOT of fun and maybe even got a little spoiled!!! Nana bought Jacie a tricycle (Jacie calls it her "bici-cycle") and pushed her around the house, Aunt Susan hooked her up with a couple of pretty new dresses, and all of the ladies loved on her, picked her up at her request to "pickit up," and let her climb all over them!!!

A Few Good Pictures

We did get a few pictures that weren't so bad. I guess that's how it goes with our independent little one!!!

Not as Cooperative with Pictures this Year!!!

We wanted to go ahead and do Jacie's 2-year pictures during a trip back to Arlington rather than trying to get it done in the middle of unpacking in San Antonio. Jacie, however, wasn't quite as interested in getting some good pictures. She was very nervous, walked away a lot, and made unusual faces.

Jacie's "News House"

We had been a little concerned about Jacie's temperament during the whole transition (she was pretty irritable for awhile), but it turned out she was just as ready as us to get re-settled. She was so excited to be in her new house, or "news house" as she called it. It was so reassuring how quickly she became our sweet little happy girl again!!! She had fun sharing Mama's stress ice cream (although we had to eat it with a fork because it was the only utensil we could find), she played in her swimming pool in the backyard, and she got to hang out inside the coffee table since the glass was still packed.

Playground Queen

Little did Mama know that Jacie had overcome the playground slide fears she had between the time we were selling our house and the time we stayed in the San Antonio apartment. Mama took Jacie to the apartment playground and was dreading it a bit because it looked too big for her. Mama offered to take Jacie down the little slide on her lap, and Jacie left Mama in the dust to do the bigger slide on her own!!! She even went down it backwards on her stomach at one point!!! She has her Daddy's dare-devil attitude.

Last Sunday in Arlington

On Jacie's last Sunday in Arlington, we went to church (Mama cried uncontrollably for 2 Sundays in a row), and then we got Jacie's bangs trimmed by someone other than Mama for the first time. Jacie was not a fan of having that done-- Daddy had to hold her, and the man had to cut them while she had her head on Daddy's shoulder. Hey, it got done!!!

Saying Goodbye to Some Friends

We had a few friends over to the old Arlington house one last time before heading out to San Antonio. Jacie had fun getting to hang out with the Luce Family, the Danklefs Family, and the Prices.
