Okay, as I mentioned, I can never catch her doing this on video. This isn't a great representation-- I swear she can do it better-- but it's the closest I've gotten!!!

San Antonio Zoo Trip

Daddy took a Friday off so we could spoil Jacie with some fun before she has to share her time with Garrett. We started off with a great breakfast at a place Mama had been wanting to try. (Jacie could have cared less...she was very content watching Mickey Mouse on Mama's phone.) Then we headed to the zoo!
Relaxation

Here are a few more pictures of Jacie just hanging out and being comfortable. She was excited to see her old activity gym being pulled out in preparation for her brother's arrival, so she had to sit under the canopy, of course!!! The picture of her and Daddy is for everyone that thinks she looks just like me-- she looks a lot like him, too!!!!
Hurricane Season

We're learning about hurricane season here in San Antonio. It's not unusual right now for us to get lots of random rainshowers. The humidity can be unbearable at times, but at other times the weather feels great!!! Jacie has gotten to see a rainbow from all this, though, and she's gotten to play with her beloved "eem-brella!"

Funtastic Playland

Mama finally signed up for a moms' group in town, so we've gone on a couple of recent outings. Our first trip was to storytime at Barnes and Noble and then the playground at the Shops of La Cantera with 5 other ladies and their kids. We had a blast, and it was nice for both of us to meet some new people. We're learning about new fun places around town, like this one we went to yesterday. Jacie had an absolute blast, got tons of great activity time, and Mama got to enjoy both watching her have fun and talking to some other adults!!!! Mama was proud of Jacie for managing her behavior well and for taking such a good nap when we got home!!
Fredericksberg

Jacie, Mama, and Daddy took a short road trip up to Fredericksberg to meet The Dixon Family for some shopping and lunch. We had a lot of fun, and Jacie really got a kick of hanging out with the big girls. Shelby (16) and Sydney (11) were SOOOO good with her!!! They walked her everywhere and shopped with her, probably making Jacie wish she was getting a big sister rather than a little brother!!! Tony helped her come back down to earth by getting in her stroller-- something she is going to have to tolerate from her little brother!! She was worn out after the long morning, and she gave us our first golden opportunity to start weaning her off the pacifier. That night provided another chance when she lost it in the middle of the night and we genuinely couldn't find it. Now she's on day 4 of no pacifiers, and she's handling it well!!!! We've had a small regression in the potty training since we did it, but we'll take a step back to take a step forward!!! Needless to say, we're very proud of our big girl!!
More Fun at Home

Jacie likes her tv time since she's still a huge fan of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Sesame Street, and Clifford. She learned how to lounge on the couch by watching her Daddy demonstrate on weekends. We always like to get messy with the paints or markers, and sometimes we just show off how darn cute we are!!!
Fake Sleeper
Jacie's really into playing little games like chasing Mama, Daddy, or Harley through the house or having one of us "get" her. She also likes to have us pretend to sleep so she can make a loud noise and "wake us up." Here's a clip of Jacie fake sleeping. She was doing a really good job before I got the camera out, but then the acting died down because she was so interested in watching it!!!
Playing at Home

I have truly enjoyed this time I have gotten with Jacie since we moved. I keep thinking about how I might never know all of these cute things she's doing if she was at daycare. For example, she's now calling it "the wake-ups" when she gets hiccups, which cracks me up. I know I should be correcting her, but it's so cute!!! She also seems to have a crush on Ernie. Weird taste in boys, huh? He comes on tv, or she flips to a picture of him in her coloring book, and all of a sudden she's all giggly, squealy, and smiley. We have a great time together everyday, and I'm so proud of all she's accomplishing!!! She knows her colors really well, she's getting really consistent with her alphabet, she can sing a couple of songs correctly, and she can identify some letters!!! Of course, her language has always impressed me, and she's getting all too good at helping me yell at the dog to, "Go lay down," "Get on the carpet," or "Stop barking!"

Touchdown
A little backyard football was in store during the Tulsa trip, too. Daddy thought he was going to play a calm game of catch with Tyler, but then the girls came outside and wanted to play. Daddy ended up letting Tyler, Jacie, and Mia each take turns handling the ball. Here's a clip of Jacie's touchdown!
