A little backyard football was in store during the Tulsa trip, too. Daddy thought he was going to play a calm game of catch with Tyler, but then the girls came outside and wanted to play. Daddy ended up letting Tyler, Jacie, and Mia each take turns handling the ball. Here's a clip of Jacie's touchdown!

"Getting Busy"
With turning two comes a lot of new activities and behaviors!!! Jacie recently started wanting to experience getting dizzy (or "getting busy" as she sometimes calls it). She looks so funny when she stops spinning...normally her head keeps going in the direction she was turning, and she gets a funny expression on her face. Here was a short video clip I caught of her spinning awhile back!

Repeating Last Year
Jacie likes to watch the birthdays on the local news, so in keeping with last year's posting of her picture, I sent one in again. Here she is on the Fox morning news.
Jacie is 2

Jacie continued to celebrate her 2nd birthday by getting treated to a Chick Fil A dinner with Mama and Daddy (including playground time) and opening a couple more presents (to which she exclaimed, "Oh my goodness!!!"). Jacie visited her new pediatrician that week, and she remains a sturdy girl at the 95th percentile for weight and head circumference. She was 34 inches tall and weighed 32 pounds and 3.2 ounces.
"This is Fun!!!"
Jacie likes her slide even better when we put her old pool at the bottom and let her go down in her swimsuit. This clip is of a gentle slide-- many times she went down a lot faster and splashed in really well (even on her back a couple of times!!!!), but I loved this clip because of her little comment at the end.

It's My Party

Jacie celebrated her 2nd birthday in the theme of Minnie Mouse with some of her family members on the Saturday before her birthday. Aunt Michelle and Will came down from Dallas for the party, and TeeTee and Uncle Brian and family were there, too!!! Jacie was so funny blowing out her candles and opening her presents, but the only videos I got were on the video camera, and they won't upload!!!! So, to sum it up, she tried so hard to blow out her candles that she yelled with the effort. When she got a little help from her cousins, she said with a serious face, "I did it!!!!" Jacie was obsessed with her new umbrella from Aunt Keem (she would have carried it the whole time if we'd let her), and she made a huge victory lap telling all her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse friends (from the balloons and decorations) about a Mickey Mouse coloring book she got from TeeTee. She got lots of great gifts and has enjoyed them tremendously (thanks, Everybody!!), but she really seemed to enjoy having some other kids around to hang out with!! Thanks, Tyler & Payton!!!
Visiting the Riverwalk

Jacie has lived in San Antonio for a couple of months but hadn't yet made it to the Riverwalk. Mama, Daddy, and TeeTee took her down there and met up with Uncle Brian & family to ride the boat through the canal. Jacie was all ready to go out on the the town in her new outfit from Aunt Keem!!! She had a great time on the boat. She wasn't scared at all-- it really seemed to relax her!!! She just sat back and soaked it all in!!! We're sure she learned all kinds of San Antonio history that evening!

Nightly Routine

Daddy and I try to keep up our teamwork and do the bedtime routine together each night. It's a great way for Daddy to get in some quality time with Jacie when he gets home. Jacie likes it when Daddy does the "blow dry" after her bath, we let her choose who reads each of the books before bed, and then Daddy does the bedtime prayer. Jacie has gotten so cute repeating after him and even predicting what he's going to say. We're hoping our routine is going to ease the pain of paci D-Day, when we're officially done with it!!! (COMING SOON!!!) We've already gotten rid of all her paci's except one, and she hasn't even mentioned it!!! Jon keeps putting in his two cents and suggesting that I get rid of the last one when he's out of town, but I'd hate for him to miss the momentous occasion.
Trip to H2

Jacie and Mama met up with Daddy and Harley at the ranch for the first time since our move. The second I told her where they had gone, she insisted that we go "catch" them, and then she went into a huge rant of sense and nonsense frequently throwing in the words, "Jeep" and "Cows." I think she was ready to get away!!! She loved every minute of it, and she was happy to see Nana and Popa who met us there for a day and brought her a t-ball game!
Hanging Out

Jacie (and Mama) liked having Daddy home on the Monday after the 4th, but our usual routine of Toddler Time at the library and then fun on the playground wasn't an option since the library was closed. Daddy agreed we could go to the playground anyway, so Jacie had fun doing that! Later in the week she learned what every child must know-- beaters usually taste good when licked!!! She got to try some cake batter off the beaters when Mama was done. Then she spent more time relaxing around the house before getting to hang out with her friend Sadie that Friday!!!
4th of July

For the 4th of July, Mama was determined to find a parade for Jacie to see. We were disappointed that we ended up at a parade that was "participatory" rather than planned and presented. Oh well!!!! Jacie had fun anyway!!! We let her swim and dig into some watermelon that evening, and then that night we went to buy some sparklers, which we found that Jacie liked much better when they WEREN'T lit. We watched some professional fireworks out in Schertz, and Jacie was a little nervous, but when Daddy let her lean into him she actually seemed to enjoy them!!!
